Hunnypot is proud to present the 1st single from Louis Prima Jr and The Witnesses BLOW album out June 10th, 2014. Check the official lyric video for “Go Lets Go,” there are Easter Eggs a plenty.
“BLOW is as eclectic and unique as each member of my powerhouse band. With our collective talents and diverse musical tastes, we wind up with a raucous roller coaster ride of tail-shakin’, foot-stampin’, horn-driven smiles. We didn’t set out to simply write music we thought the fans wanted to hear. We wanted to challenge ourselves musically and also challenge the listener. If music does not come honestly from your soul, it will ultimately be short lived,”
- Louis Prima Jr.

JT Griffith works in Portland, OR as Nike’s internal music supervisor working globally within the company’s brand connections group. Since 1993 he’s experienced a variety of aspects in the music business. As a music supervisor, JT has over 12 years experience and played a creative or licensing role on 3 Grammy-nominated music projects. In Music Supervision he was part of the music team behind TV shows such as HBO’s Six Feet Under, NBC’s Boomtown and films including Shrek 2, Madagascar and Over the Hedge. In radio, he has hosted a weekly new music / indie rock show on Oregon NPR affiliate (KOPB / opbmusic.org) after helping produce a show on KCRW, which was nominated for the Best Radio Show in LA. He worked at Nettwerk Records & Mgmt in the Film and TV department including a wide range of placements and developing a brand marketing focus and a sports expertise. He also was involved in Nettwerk’s US A&R efforts, signing and working with a wide range of bands (including the Submarines, Of Montreal, Ladytron, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Styrofoam, etc.) and initiated the first publishing joint venture with Nacional Records/Cookman Intl, which included the Pinker Tones, Nortec Collective, Aterciopelados and others. In 1996 he created one of the first music blogs called Jam Online and later co-founded the P2P music metric and marketing firm BigChampagne.
YNGCULT hail from the Los Angeles area, but remain anonymous. “Sides of War,” one of the two singles known to their name (the other titled “Lets Get It Back“), is a pre-release from their Capitoll EP, which is set to be available early 2014.
Quite obviously, production is where YNGCULT thrives. “Sides of War” creates engaging buildups and minimalist drops, with twinkling synth and haunting female vocals, similar to what we heard on Cathedrals’ “Unbound.” With emphasis on floating melodies and thoughtful lyrical content, the anticipation for this EP is of high caliber. “Sides of War” is diverse and passionate yet utterly graceful within its every motion.
Das Tapes were born in Los Angeles, 2010, brothers/producers Das Tapes are doing more than taking a stab at pop music; with Kevin helming drums, beat production and lead vocals, and Mark as the guitar and synth-wielding doctor, they’re killing it and bringing it back to life. Both schooled in jazz and fanatics of Hip hop and Motown, their gleaming beats and earnest songwriting were captured on their self-titled, -produced and -released EP. Described ”addictive, sexy, dark and dirty synth laden,” blogs around the globe have already had a field day using their likeness in mixtapes, DJ sets and remixes. And not to be outdone, the production duo’s handled remix duties for both Mates of State and Okkervil River singles.
The Herms are a smudged window into a neighboring dimension to ours. This brash, new outfit has taken the east side by storm with their passion and depth.
Barbi Crash started originally as a duo called Black Barbie. In 2011, the remaining member of Black Barbie transformed into the superhuman Barbi Crash.
Raised in Chicago, Erich “E-TRAIN” Malo has always been known for his obsession with breakdancing, beat-boxing, and party rapping. Growing up with a twin sister classically trained as a dancer and choreographer, E-TRAIN was constantly surrounded by music and dance. Despite his artistic bent, E-TRAIN majored in business but when his mother Roxane Malo tragically passed away during his freshman year, young Erich’s passion for music and art blossomed and he transformed into the artist the world knows today as E-TRAIN.

Polaris Rose is an indie-alternative rock band based out of Los Angeles. The duo made up of Peter Anthony and Madelynn Elyse create a sound that is all their own. Their music blends great lyrics, melodies, harmonies, grooves, innovative sounds and everything else you could want in a song. Fair warning though; their music will get stuck in your head. Their new single “Hurricanes” is off their upcoming EP “OceanSongs” coming out April 22nd, 2014.

The Great Escape
What is your greatest Escape? Where would you go if you could? Would it be far away? Or very close to your heart?
Welcome to The Great Escape. We are a band from Los Angeles, California.
We met each other writing songs for other artists. But soon we realized we needed to create something that resonates with us. With who we are. With where we come from. With our roots. We love the 60′s. The 70′s. When Rock, Soul, Blues and Folk was raw. Unpolished. So we had a lot of fun capturing the moment. The vibe. The heart.
The Great Escape is Amie Miriello, Malte Hagemeister and Kristian Nord. Thanks for finding us. Just close your eyes. Listen. And follow your heart.
Flavia & The Red
Los Angeles-based band, Flavia & The Red, has shot onto the music scene like a bullet. The principal singer and songwriter is 22-year-old Flavia Watson. Born in California, but raised through her formative years in Ireland and Italy, Flavia exhibits a traveled and seasoned prowess that most women her age lack. Equipped with a sultry and soulful voice, her presence is the personification of the color red—emotional, fiery, and passionate.
But a talented front woman is only as good as her band. Since its inception in 2010, Flavia & The Red has shown tremendous growth gigging and captivating audiences nationwide. After various lineup changes, the band now consists of Chris Pucher on guitar, Rich Brown on keys, Max Benson on bass and Chris Toeller on drums. Each member contributes his and her own unique qualities and influences to the secret recipe that is The Red’s musically energetic and soulful brew. The band’s overall sound contains elements of classic and modern R&B, pop, and rock. Anchored by a tight rhythm section, the music exhibits memorable melodies and interactive improvisation with Flavia’s emotional and poetic lyrics at the forefront.
The band has been touring and promoting their debut album, Too Late to Cry, which was released in December of 2012. In the summer of 2013, they successfully organized their first national tour, where they performed in the Southwest and Midwest. When not on the road they can be seen at the hottest clubs and lounges in LA, including a bi-monthly residency at Nic’s Martini Lounge in Beverly Hills. In the Summer of 2012 they were chosen from hundreds of bands nationwide to go to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and perform at Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival. There, they won 2nd place at the Land the Big Gig Competition.
Flavia & The Red is taking the future into its own hands and will continue to grow as it has over the last few years. They have already been featured on various blogs and magazines, including the cover story for LA lifestyle magazine, Back Seat Quarterly, and in Dublin, Ireland’s Intallaght Magazine. They are currently on rotation for various radio stations around the U.S and performed live on television for WGN, as well as on Park City Television in Park City, Utah. They are constantly writing new material, planning more tours across the country, and have a new album in the works.

Since 2005, iPunx has been one of Europe’s great mashup pioneers. After touring massively in and around Germany, he’s landed with a mashed-up crash here in Venice, CA.
In the initial 3 smash EP’s and seamless mashup album “Destroying Dancefloor”, IPunx showcased an eclectic mix of house, rock, hiphop, punk and electro, ending up in many DJ charts around the world, including BBC Pete Tong’s Buzz charts (#3). Initially a duo, and in spite of years of successful touring, the two members of iPunx parted ways in the late 2000′s to pursue individual careers.
After relocating to LA, a now solo iPunx resurrected the project in 2013. A music producer and composer during the day, it was time to play with the unorthodox mix/mashes he truly loves. “Anybody can DJ hits. I wanna play obscure stuff that is entertaining as well. I love the surprise element”. The excitement is infectious! In West LA, iPunx fan base is growing fast.
iPunx sound ranges from chill sunrise sets with little known acoustic covers to party sets with funky mashups and remixes that combine electro, hip-hop, dub step, rock, pop, soul, folk, funk and party breaks. His credo: “Never originals. Always fun.” What’s the crowd’s reaction? ” Usually, WTF is that?” And then their hips are shaking and they’re singing along with giant smiles plastered on their faces.
iPunx has played crazy fun parties in 2013 in Joshua Tree, Baja, CA and with Boogaloo and Dirty Beetles at Burning Man. You can groove live to his mixalicious mashups weekly at The Bank of Venice on the Windward Circle. Check out www.iPunx.com for upcoming performances and new releases.

Louis Prima Jr. & the Witnesses – BLOW 6/6/14
Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses (louisprimajr.com) are bringing Prima music into the 21st century. Not content to sit on the legacy they so passionately protect, LPJ and the band are taking a page from his father’s playbook, by wailing Prima Swing like it’s 2014.
Less concerned about reliving the past than about creating a future for it, Louis Prima Jr and the Witnesses bring new energy and a current attitude to the masses with The Wildest Show this side of the 1960’s. Since their breakout performance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (aka Jazz Fest), #TeamPrima has performed everywhere from Seattle to Palermo, from small clubs to performing arts centers, from casino showrooms to music festivals, and from Access Hollywood Live to PBS.?
LPJ and the Band are currently touring in support of their second Warrior Records/Universal Music Distribution (warriorrecords.com) release, BLOW – a collection of original music (save for a couple of surprises) as eclectic and unique as each member of this powerhouse band. Building off of the success of their critically acclaimed debut CD Return of the Wildest!, the band has brought together many years of diverse musical tastes into their second offering. From the first thunderous stomps of the title track, it is evident that this isn’t your daddy’s swing music, but a raucous roller coaster ride of tail-shakin’, foot-stampin’, horn-driven smiles.
If you’ve seen them in concert, you’ll know a bit about what to expect from the musical minds of the Witnesses. As energetic and over-the-top as their live shows, BLOW continues the ever-changing musical journey that Prima Sr. began in the 30s. “With the band’s collective talents and diverse musical tastes, we wind up with a sound unique to this band, while staying true to the boisterous Prima style,” says Louis. “We didn’t set out to simply write music we thought the fans wanted to hear. We wanted to challenge ourselves musically and also challenge the listener. You can’t fool the fans by trying to force the word ‘daddy-o’ into every song. If music does not come honestly from your soul, it will ultimately be short lived.”
Recorded at Capitol Records in Studio B, where Prima Sr. recorded his hits of the 50s and 60s, the seriousness of this music is masked only by the obvious fun that was had making it. It’s been 50 years since legendary Prima music shook the walls of Capitol. A new legend is being born, and it will BLOW you away!
